The model runs directly on your GPU and CPU via WebAssembly — the same technology that powers browser-based 3D games and scientific simulations. Your image bytes are processed locally and never transmitted to any external server.
The first time you use the background remover, the browser downloads the AI model (~170MB). After that, the model is cached permanently — subsequent background removals are nearly instant.
